It is still rare for Japanese companies to negotiate directly with overseas end users.

In most cases, the supply chain involves intermediaries such as trading houses or local distributors.

Typically, the furthest Japanese exporters can go is promoting their products to trading companies in Japan or local wholesale food distributors abroad.

Direct conversations with end users—such as restaurants and supermarkets—are limited.

Furthermore, depending on the country or product, pre-approval or official registration may be required.

Preparing such documents can be time-consuming and may cause businesses to miss sales opportunities.

We’ve also seen many companies give up due to the complexity of obtaining certificates such as EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement) certificates of origin.

At Processindo Asia Partners, we take a different approach.

We start by directly speaking with local end users such as restaurants and supermarkets.

Then we reverse engineer the supply chain to figure out how to deliver products to them effectively.
